When I heard about that there were Chinese language courses at RUC, I applied without hesitation. Our teachers had high sense of responsibility, and they were glad to answer our questions patiently and explained them in detail. In addition, my partner was also helpful. She helped me to get familiar with the campus and we discussed many interesting issues.

I worked as a volunteer in this summer school, and it was really impressive. On one hand, I could get accessed to other cultures when chatting with the foreign students and we have become friends since then. On the other hand, I started to think over some social phenomena in China that I used to ignore from a new perspective. That was what summer school brought to me.

It was lucky for me to be a volunteer in this summer. We had the opportunity to come across foreign partners from different countries and help them to adapt to the life on campus. Besides that, I also improved my spoken English and social skills.

How to change your chinese courses?

For those students who take Chinese courses,

Currently, some students who can speak a little Chinese think the Elementary Chinese courses are too easy but Intermediate Chinese courses are too difficult.
Therefore, we decide to adjust the courses as following:

Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 1 (CT1109) and Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 2 (CT1110), Elementary Chinese Character 1 (CT1112) and Elementary Chinese Character 2 (CT1113) are for those who have never learned Chinese before.
Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 3 (CT1111) and Elementary Chinese Character 3 (CT1114) are for those who have learned Chinese for 5 months to 1 year.

SO,
For those who originally take Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 1 (CT1109) and Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 2 (CT1110), Elementary Chinese Character 1 (CT1112) and Elementary Chinese Character 2 (CT1113), but can speak a little chinese are allowed to change to Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 3 (CT1111) and Elementary Chinese Character 3 (CT1114).

For those who originally take Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 3 (CT1111) and Elementary Chinese Character 3 (CT1114), but have never learned Chinese before are allowed change to Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 1 (CT1109) or Elementary Comprehensive Chinese 2(CT1110) and Elementary Chinese Character 1 (CT1112) and Elementary Chinese Character 2 (CT1113).

All the students who want to change courses should report to the teacher of your class and register again.
