When I heard about that there were Chinese language courses at RUC, I applied without hesitation. Our teachers had high sense of responsibility, and they were glad to answer our questions patiently and explained them in detail. In addition, my partner was also helpful. She helped me to get familiar with the campus and we discussed many interesting issues.

I worked as a volunteer in this summer school, and it was really impressive. On one hand, I could get accessed to other cultures when chatting with the foreign students and we have become friends since then. On the other hand, I started to think over some social phenomena in China that I used to ignore from a new perspective. That was what summer school brought to me.

It was lucky for me to be a volunteer in this summer. We had the opportunity to come across foreign partners from different countries and help them to adapt to the life on campus. Besides that, I also improved my spoken English and social skills.

The Arrangement of 2012 ISS airport pick -up service

Welcome to 2012 RUC International Summer School.

The airport pick -up service is arranged as following and please arrange your itinerary accordingly.

(一)The Pick-Up Arrangement (The capital airport)

We will meet the students at the exit of the international flights terminal. And our volunteers will hold a board marked with

“WELCOME TO RUC 2012 INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL”.

Please find the board and gather around the exit.

If you miss the bus you may reach the University by yourself and check in at the reception of the international student building as you applied. If you can’t speak Chinese you may show the address to the taxi driver, and the taxi fee is no more than 150RMB.

If you have the difficulties to find the University, you may call the international summer school office by 62511150 at daytime from 8:00-17:00, and call the International student dormitory reception by 62511450, 82503204, 82503604 at daytime or night for help.

By the way, we will arrange a partner for the foreign students, you may also contact with your partner for help.

We only arrange the airport picking up service on June 30 and July 1, if you come to University on any other days you have to reach the University by yourself.

And we can’t arrange the return airport service because the courses end in different times and students leave the University in different times.

（二）Information for Check-in

When you arrive on June 30 or before, you should check in first in the International culture exchange centre. All the students should do the enrollment and register on July 1, if you miss doing the enrollment on that day, you should come to the ISS office to do the making-up enrollment, otherwise, you can’t attend the class.

Please remember that the International culture exchange centre only allow the RMB in cash. There are some banks around the campus for you to exchange the currency. You can also choose to exchange in airport in advance.
